How Skip or Ship collects, stores, and protects your data — what's kept, what's not, and how to request deletion.
Last updated: April 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how SkipOrShip collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use the app, website, reports, account features, payment features, and related services.
SkipOrShip helps users evaluate app, startup, and business ideas using automated analysis, validation signals, public data sources, and third-party service providers.
This policy is intended to be clear and practical. It is not a confidentiality agreement, non-disclosure agreement, patent filing service, legal advice, investment advice, or business advice.
What we collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated through your use of the service, and limited technical information needed to operate, secure, and improve SkipOrShip.
When you use SkipOrShip, you may submit app, startup, or business idea text, brand names, product names, domain ideas, slogans, market descriptions, founder context, business context, customer information, goals, assumptions, feedback, or other details you choose to include.
If you create or claim an account, we may collect and store your email address, account ID, saved ideas and reports, report credits, purchase history, account settings, billing references, and service email records.
When reports are generated, saved, reopened, claimed, shared, or upgraded, we may store report content, scores, summaries, recommendations, validation signals, premium checks, brand checks, report unlock status, and related report activity.
Payment card details are handled by our payment processor. We do not store full payment card numbers ourselves. We may store payment-related records such as customer IDs, payment IDs, credit balances, purchase metadata, invoice references, billing portal references, refund records, dispute records, and receipt information.
We may also collect limited technical, request, device, and security information, such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, request logs, timestamps, error logs, security events, abuse-prevention signals, approximate location derived from technical data, cookies, local storage, analytics identifiers, or similar information where used.
Information you should not submit
SkipOrShip is designed for early idea validation and business evaluation. It is not designed to store highly sensitive or regulated information.
Do not submit passwords, private keys, payment card details, government identity documents, health records, medical information, trade secrets, confidential employer information, information covered by a non-disclosure agreement, anything you are not authorised to share, or anything you would not want processed by AI, hosting, storage, logging, security, or other operational providers.
How we use information
We use information to provide, operate, secure, and improve SkipOrShip.
This includes generating idea evaluations, creating scores and recommendations, running premium and brand checks, saving and reopening reports, claiming reports to accounts, sharing reports through app links, managing accounts, processing purchases and report credits, sending service-related emails, responding to support, preventing fraud and abuse, diagnosing technical problems, and complying with legal, tax, accounting, dispute, security, or regulatory obligations.
We do not sell your personal information.
AI-assisted processing
SkipOrShip uses automated and AI-assisted systems to generate reports, scores, summaries, recommendations, and validation signals.
When you submit an idea, relevant parts of your submission may be processed by AI model providers and other service providers to generate your report. Reports may also use public websites, search indexes, public registries, business databases, domain or brand checks, and other external data sources.
Reports are for informational purposes only. You should not treat them as legal, financial, investment, tax, professional, or business advice.
Third-party services and processors
We use trusted third-party services to operate SkipOrShip, including AI model and analysis providers, cloud hosting, database and storage providers, authentication providers, payment processors, email delivery, analytics, logging and monitoring, security and abuse prevention, and public-data providers.
We share only what is reasonably needed for the feature being used.
Sharing reports and app links
Reports may be stored so they can be displayed, reopened, claimed by your account, shared through app links, or upgraded.
If you share a report link with someone else, that person may be able to view the report depending on how the link and sharing feature work. Do not share report links with people who should not see the content.
Confidentiality of ideas
SkipOrShip is not a confidential disclosure system, legal vault, patent filing service, or NDA-protected review service. We do not sell or publish your ideas, but to operate the service we may process relevant parts of your submission with service providers as described in this policy.
You should not submit trade secrets, highly confidential business plans, patentable inventions, employer-confidential information, or information covered by an NDA unless you are comfortable with this processing and authorised to provide it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, including access controls, server-side processing, secure authentication, encrypted connections where supported, least-necessary data sharing, and security and abuse-prevention measures. No online service can guarantee perfect security.
International processing
Our service providers may process information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
Retention
We keep information only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law. Saved reports and account information are kept while your account is active. Payment, security, and legal records are kept as long as needed for legal, tax, dispute, and abuse-prevention obligations.
Deletion and controls
Signed-in users can delete individual saved ideas and reports from their dashboard, and delete their account from account settings. Some payment, invoice, security, backup, dispute, and legal records may remain where we are required or permitted to keep them.
Privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or withdrawal of consent. Some rights may be limited by law, security requirements, payment or tax obligations, or backup systems.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the product, legal requirements, or our data practices change. If changes are material, we will update the date above and use a reasonable method to make the new policy available in the app or on our website.
